Energy Process Skills Answers
Worksheet 10 1. Their spoons have become too hot for them to hold. 2. Copper is the best conductor. 3. Clay, china/porcelain.Worksheet 11 1. It has lost some heat to the surrounding air. 2. The jar wrapped in tissue paper. 3. The styrofoam. 4. She should put them into a box made of styrofoam material.Worksheet 12 1. Metal is a good conductor of heat. When a saucepan of food is placed over a fire, the heat from it will travel quickly to the food. 2. Plastics are poor conductors/insulators of heat. The heat will not travel so quickly to the hands. 3i. I will put on a pair of oven gloves. 3ii. The gloves will act as an insulator to prevent the heat from reaching my hands quickly. 4. The plastic handle of an iron prevents the heat from burning our hands.Worksheet 13 1. cholorophyll 2. photosynthesis 3. herbivores 4. carnivores 5. omnivores 6. energy 7. Food from Animals- fishballs, beef steak, pork chop, satay, roast chicken. Food from Plants- soya bean curd, lettuce, potato, nuts, salad.Worksheet 14 1. SUN 2. LOSS 3. INSULATOR 4. FRICTION 5. CELSIUS 6. HEAT 7. EXPAND 8. TEMPERATURE 9. MERCURY 10. THERMOMETERWorksheet 15 1. No. The amount of water used in Beaker A and B is not the same. 2. No. The no. of sugar cubes and amount of water used are different. 3. Beakers A and D. Only the temperature differs. All other factors remain the same. 4. The sugar cube in Beaker D dissolves faster than the one in Beaker A. Heat helps a substance to dissolve faster.Worksheet 16 1. 2 2. 4 3. 4Worksheet 17 1. 3 2. 4 3. 1 4. 2Worksheet 18 1. He can pour hot water over it. The heated air in the ping-pong ball will escape through the hole instead of pushing out the dent. 2. She is trying to make the bottle cap expand. Yes. The expanded cap will loosen the grip on the bottle. 3. The heat from the boiling soup transfers through the spoon to Sonya's hand.

Calculator Purchase
Please remember to bring $18 for your calculator purchase tomorrow. You are strongly encouraged to purchase the calculator tomorrow, because:Our school has decided to adopt this calculator model. So almost everyone will be using the same model , which is good for teaching and learning. It is one of the approved models by MOE It has got the latest function (even I'm wow-ed by it!) It's cheaper ! Retail price $22. So get yours tomorrow! (I'm getting one too!)
P.s They did not pay me to advertise for them =P
